What to offer during Aarti?
(1) During the Kanha Aarti, various objects are offered to the deity while ringing the bell: incense, ghee lamp, water, cloth, flowers, yak tail fan, and peacock fan.
(2) The objects used in Aarti represent the physical elements in their pure form and correspond to the sense objects.
(3) In other words, the objects of aarti satisfy the senses and represent all the elements present in God’s creation being offered back to God for His satisfaction.
(4) The shankha blown at the beginning and end of each aarti drives away inauspicious elements. The sound of the bell is dear to God and symbolizes all music.
(5) Flowers and incense provide beautiful fragrances for the pleasure of God. The ghee lamp represents lighting one’s path. Offering water to the conch symbolizes the offering of a mixture of auspicious items that are raised above or touched on the head of the honored guest as part of the welcome.
(6) It is a way of welcoming God and making Him feel at home. The handkerchief represents the offering of new clothes.
(7) The yak-tail camera and the peacock fan are both aspects of royal service. The camera keeps flies away, while the peacock fan provides a cool breeze.
In Aarti, cotton wicks are especially important. In such a case, first place cotton wicks in the lamp in odd numbers (such as 3, 5, or 7) and light them.
(2) Place the lamp in a thali or plate. Along with this, keep flowers and camphor in there. Aarti can also be performed by creating a wick at home. Aarti with five lamps is conducted at Puja Pandals.
(3) Perform Maa Durga’s Aarti by blowing conchs, bells, and clapping.
(4) In front of Maa Durga, rotate the Aarti thali circularly from the top down. That is, rotate the Aarti plate clockwise. It is even better if we make the shape of Om using this sequence.
(5) After the Aarti, rest both palms on the Jyoti for a few moments on your forehead, ears, eyes, and lips.
(6) Aside from the light, the Aarti thali must have camphor, flowers, incense sticks, and Akshat (unbroken grains). It is thought that by doing Maa Durga Aarti with these items, one receives special benefits.
Everyone wants a healthy and prosperous life. When you worship Lord Ganapati, you work towards achieving success. Your determination towards achieving your goals will certainly increase.
